Certificate in LGBTQ Ministry
CenterPeace's 9-month certificate training program equips pastors and other Christian leaders who are working to fully integrate LGBTQ people into the life of the Church. This online cohort program provides crucial insight and practical tools for nurturing the faith and spiritual gifts of sexual and gender minorities.
Next application period opens March 1, 2027 with the cohort beginning in late August 2027!
What we can offer you
The CenterPeace Certificate in LGBTQ Ministry will give you the top-notch training and resources you need to help your congregation become a church where sexual and gender minorities thrive. Studies show the percentage of young people attending church is rapidly dropping. One factor in this trend is the Church's inadequate response to LGBTQ people. Not only is the Church losing sexual and gender minorities, but also their friends and family who support them. You can make a difference.

Learn from the Best
CenterPeace Founder and Executive Director, Sally Gary, has over 20 years of experience ministering to the LGBTQ community and training church leaders. Plus, you will learn from other key experts in the field.

Experience Community
Through two intimate in-person retreats, monthly Zoom conversations, and an online discussion forum, you will build connections with class peers who walk the journey with you.

Explore Resources
Knowing the right resources will equip you, while also giving you tools for equipping others, whether it be a recommended book, video, or podcast. In this program you will explore a wealth of resources you need for LGBTQ ministry.
Course Modules
Storytelling
In this module, we will listen to each other's stories and listen to the voices of LGBTQ people and their loved ones. What can we learn when we are honest with each other, while learning new practices of empathy? You will be surprised and amazed.
Trauma-Informed Care
Many people in the LGBTQ community have unique social experiences, including within faith communities. Unfortunately, these experiences are often filled with painful interactions. You will learn best practices for trauma care and cultivating resilience.
Spiritual Formation & Leadership
LGBTQ Christians have much to offer the Church. This module covers faith reconstruction, spiritual gifts, and ways to empower LGBTQ people to serve and lead as vital members of the Body of Christ.
Outreach
A higher rate of LGBTQ people leave the church after becoming adults. But a major study found as many as 75% would like to return if they could find a church that fully embraces them. Outreach to the LGBTQ community is essential.
